Frappino, an Unexpected Flavor Burst

Before heading into the theater to see Batman v Superman at Sta. Lucia East Mall, Cainta, we had the urge to drink something cold; ice cold drinks, shakes, smoothies, anything. Then we saw this kiosk that sells blended beverages as it's banner suggests; Frappino Blended Beverages... or was that just Beverage. It's located just beside the top floor arcade, Word's of Fun.

We looked at their selection of flavors and ordered one Cappuccino and one Blueberry Cream; both in regular sized cups. The total payout was Php 90.

As the attendants were blending our drinks, my expectations on the drinks was just so so. Just enough to cool me down. They handed us our drinks, mine was the cappuccino. As I took a sip, wow. I could still taste the full flavor of brewed coffee even if it was just a shot glass mixed with a bout a full glass of crushed ice, some milk, and whipped cream. I really wasn't expecting that. Event the Blueberry Cream was good. You can really taste the blueberry.

We finished our drinks wishing we should have bought the bigger sized cups.

Burgers from Space! No, from Pasig

Ah... Burgers... Sometimes you just have the urge to eat them.

At the corner of Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue and Pag-asa Street in Pasig City, there's a small place called Bentesilog. And beside Bentesilog is a burger place named, MIB.

MIB stands for Made In Burger. This food place is quite small with only around four barrels. These barrels are what serve as tables. It's open to the outside so you're pretty much dining al fresco.

Their menu is written on a chalkboard located overhead, behind the counter. You can see your burger as they assemble it on top of the counter. They wear plastic food gloves so it's fine. Their burgers are huge, much like those from Burger King or Brothers Burger and they are priced the same.

We ordered a couple of Smack Downs, a small order of onion rings, and a couple of drinks. The total damage was about Php 300. Like I said, similarly priced. The Smack Down has a big ass patty about quarter pound I believe, breaded chicken fillet, a couple of thinly sliced cucumbers, and a strip of mango. And you get mustard and ketchup placed inside syringes. No, no needles, just the syringes.

The burgers were okay. They was nothing like the ones from BK or BB. The burger patty seemed like it was missing something but I can't quite put my finger on it. I guess all the flavor went to the bottom bun. The onion rings were... well... they were not the best onion rings in the world. Salty. I only had a couple of rings and that's it.

Let's try that Bentesilog next time.

This Time, I Wasn't The Only One Who Thought It Was Slow

Receipt from Jollibee One Mercedes.
On the 30th of March at around quarter to eight in the evening, as you can see on the picture on the left, we decided to eat at Jollibee One Mercedes. Hunger was upon us so we wanted to eat a bear. Sorry, Son Goku.

At the counter, I ordered a palabok and chicken combo (leg part since they said they didn't have any available thigh part), a spaghetti and regular yum meal, a regular yum meal (large fries and coke), and an order of Fixins (with Kisses). They were able to give me everything except for the palabok and chicken so they had to give me a number for that.

Since we already have some food with us, we started to eat. A few minutes have already passed; way more than it should. Our order of palabok and chicken is nowhere to be found. We were wondering what's taking them so long. I looked around and saw almost all the tables have pending orders (waiting numbers). Some of them even ordered before me. When people started standing up and complaining about what happened to their orders, only then did the crew realized that the pending orders are still inside the kitchen. At least that's what I heard.

So at last our order came. But wait, it's not over, yet. We had to have our order changed because we specifically said, leg part since they said they don't have any thigh parts. Crazy enough, when we told them to swap out the chicken parts, they said they don't have any chicken legs, just thighs. What's up with that?

This is probably the worst Jollibee branch I have ever been to, as far as service in concerned. I didn't even hear any apologies.

Sorry Jollibee One Mercedes. The food was still Jollibee but, the service was awful. That's why I only had the receipt as a picture.

Bon Chon, SM The Annex

After having my annual physical examination somewhere near SM North EDSA, I was pretty much hungry because of that FBS requirement; fasting.

We walked around The Annex looking for a place to eat. There were a lot of restaurants to choose from but, we decided to eat at Bon Chon. We had an order of Fish n' Chips (although I wonder why they call it Fish n' Chips, they should call it Fish n' Fries), 2-Piece Fried Chicken w/ rice, a couple of glasses of Mountain Dew, and an order of Blueberry Yogurt. The bill was around Php 400.00.

Their chicken and fish fillets were as good as the other Bon Chon branches I've been to. Good to know they stick to their standards.

Let the picture show my rating; of course, there's left over chicken bones.

Why Tira-tirahan?

I would like to kick off my new blog by explaining why "Tira-tirahan?" Why did I pick that title?

Tira is a Filipino word that means a few things and one of them is, "left-over;" as in left over food. And I have had a habit of taking pictures of what's left of my food. Usually an empty plate.

In a way, the pictures of what's left of my food would tell you how much I liked it. The less food left on the plate, the better it is.

On a side note, I am also re-starting my other blogs; my movie/TV/viral video/any-visual-show blog: retinalattachment.blogspot.com and my lifestyle blog fouljester.blogspot.com. Please do check them out, too.
